Biography

     Praised for her “beautiful sound,” “free spirit,” and “silver high notes,” Louisiana-born soprano Cadie Jordan is quickly emerging as a captivating and versatile performer in a variety of repertoire from Mozart to Jake Heggie.  She is currently in her second year as a Marion Roose Pullin Arizona Opera Studio Artist with role debuts including Musetta in La bohème, Bess in Craig Bohmler’s Riders of the Purple Sage, and Naiade in Ariadne auf Naxos in the 2019-2020 season.  She will recreate the role of the Maid in the Taliesin West Premier of Daron Hagen’s Shining Brow as part of the McDougall RED series as well as Lucy in Fellow Travelers.

     Recent performances include Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro, Annina in La traviata in the Arizona Opera 2018-2019 season. In the same season, she reprised the role of Despina in the Marion Roose Pullin Studio production of Così fan tutte.  Dedicated to promoting new works, Ms. Jordan’s career highlights have also included the roles of Chan Parker in Daniel Schnyder's and Bridgette Wimberly’s Charlie Parker’s Yardbird and Clara in Jake Heggie’s It’s A Wonderful Life.  In the summers of 2017 and 2018, Ms. Jordan was an Apprentice Artist at Des Moines Metro Opera where she sang Second Wood Sprite in Rusalka and covered Laurie Moss in The Tender Land and Anne Egerman in A Little Night Music. Other role highlights include Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Lisette in La rondine, and Marian Paroo in The Music Man.  

     An avid recitalist, Ms. Jordan spent two summers as a Fellow of Ravinia's Steans  Institute for Singers with world-renowned pianists, coaches, and dramaturgs in a series of recitals, concerts, and masterclasses with Thomas Hampson, Helmut Deutsch, and Kevin Murphy.  Other concert repertoire includes Handel’s Messiah and Salve Regina.  Ms. Jordan received her Bachelor’s Degree from Louisiana State University and a Master’s Degree from Indiana University.
